Vildfaren

Serafín Ziquer Xavier / Vildfaren
Artistic Practice
Since the mid-1990s, his work has been described as engaging with existential questions through an interdisciplinary approach, combining image, text, photography and visual storytelling. From early on, his works stood out for provoking strong emotional responses and generating notable public engagement.
His practice is often recognized as a form of surrealism that feels believable. Not because the images themselves are realistic, but because of their emotional authenticity. Moving fluidly between video, photography, drawing and digital painting, he maintains a consistent artistic identity across mediums, a quality that is considered rare. He approaches his work as an auteur rather than an illustrator, creating pieces that all belong to the same cohesive world, even as forms and styles shift.

Being
"Inside me trembled the quake of a beast
When I ran as a child my feet lifted from the ground
all laughter turned to fire
From a thoughtless existence and its infamy
I became a being who wandered across an ocean of heavens and pulled the night toward me"
